| Identify Business Basics |
|
Just like any other kind of business, yours needs some initial things to do too. Those so called Even if you will be selling from your home, still you may need to secure a business permit (registration) for your business. In cases like food business, you may be obliged to obtain sanitary permits, fire protection permits and other documents needed. This varies from one place to another depending on your business type and the requirements provided by your local area. Think about creating a systematic financial system. You may have to open a bank account specifically intended for your business rather than using your personal one. This will help you track all the credits and debits transactions transpired during your dealings. Keep a record of all your check issuances. Do this for those received checks will give you benefit too. Make a simple inventory template for easy monitoring of your products. You may need good quality software for this. This is optional but there’s nothing for you to lose if you get one. Additionally, having a business or calling card is essential. This shows professionalism as it states all the information regarding your business. From your name, business address and contact numbers, to the list of (some) products you are selling. This will give your prospective buyers and current and future customers a trouble-free communication with you. You may want to print some fliers or brochures (if your budget permits) for your products’ “information dissemination”. Feel free to be creative enough in making them appealing to the buying public. You may highlight your products’ features and benefits, price or focus on the items’ tagline. This is actually one of the proven marketing strategies being practiced for over a decade now. Going back to food business, you may need to buy some items such as mixing bowl, baking pans, plastic containers and others. Just make sure that you will only purchase what you “need” and not just what you “want” to maximize your budget. You may be wondering why I gave emphasis on the words “need” and “want”. Well need is something necessary while want is something like you just feel like having. Again, if your budget suits then why not buy something you need and at the same time want. Just be certain that you’ll be using those stuffs for your business. Otherwise, you will just waste money. Of course you will need a computer. It doesn’t have to be a high end one. You may opt to buying an extra (not being used) computer from a relative or friend. This will somehow lessen your expenses instead of acquiring a brand new pc or laptop. Better if you have an existing one now. Installing a supplementary phone line will give you concentration on all incoming and outgoing business calls. Let your personal line be utilized by your family. This will give both of you privacy in conversing over the phone. Lastly, I believe maintaining a checklist on all these things will be advantageous to you. Review it every now and then. Add points if the need arises. Executing everything stated above before you start operating will undeniably smoothly guide you to the next pace of your biz. Start now! |
