Any kind of business has competition whether food, gadgets and gizmos, clothing, accessories, Don’t just sit on the couch and read newspapers, books or magazines while waiting for a call for an order. If you’re selling a home baked cake, then you have to be competitive with your price (if the price of an 8 diameter cake costs $12, yours can be $10) price is just one of the prime considerations of the buying public. But having a much affordable price for your product is not just what you have to think of. Quality is also important. You need not lower down the price of your product just so you can persuade someone to buy it. Remember, having low priced products to sell may not mean having good quality products. Set an affordable (not too low nor not to high) for your products’ pricing. In this way, you’ll surely satisfy your customers’ desire to have a “worth spending” purchase. Your products’ features and benefits likewise play an important role to your biz. They must have general features (even if they don’t the detailed ones) that have to stand out from the rest of your competitors. A particular feature should have a corresponding benefit so as to fully appreciate the highlights of the items. Knowing who exactly your direct competitors are will be beneficial to your business too. Yes you may be so excited to start up your business and immediately sell those goods, there’s nothing wrong with that as I’m sure you don’t want to lose the momentum. The best thing to do would be being thrilled and at the same time conduct a good market analysis, giving emphasis on your competitors and the products they are trading. In this way you’ll be able to closely monitor not just the items you are selling but your competitors as well. Being alert of the competition would means not just being very much competitive, but promises higher profit from your biz. You don’t want to be left behind don’t you? So, don’t waste time, give emphasis on this.
