You may be telling yourself “Am I the right person for this kind of business?” Well, nobody’s perfect, so to speak. One of the factors to be considered in getting into a business is a person’s willingness, dedication and patience in the chosen field.
How do you know if you are on the right track? First, analyze yourself if you are already ready (meaning financially, emotionally, physically and socially) to enter into the business world. If so, then proceed with your plan. Secondly, you should be able to accept the fact that in business, there are ups and downs, and that is the reality of it. This will somehow lessen your expectations of having a SURE BALL BUSINESS the whole year round because honestly, there is no such thing as that. Sure it is going to be a tough yet very challenging endeavor. You must likewise realize that there is always a “first time” and that “there is always a time for adjustment”. After all, there is nothing for you to lose if you give it a try. One of the essential considerations is to make a thorough analysis of the kind of business you are going to engage with. This will absolutely give you a clear understanding if you can really do it. You must be very much interested or better if you have inclinations with the type of business; whether products or services you are getting into. Otherwise, you will not be able to maintain that “enthusiasm” to run that particular business. Preparing yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, socially and of course financially are the best thing to do. Mentally prepared means you have all the necessary information needed to contemplate on in your chosen kind of business. You may also welcome ideas and experiences shared by the experts as these will boost your interest to pursue your dream and lessen your inhibitions. Physical preparations like being “fit” is also very important as you will need a lot of say; leg work in planning and executing your business. Talking about emotional preparation, suggests that you should be brave enough to face and accept all the circumstances of being an entrepreneur whether it would be positive or negative. Because if you will not do this, and you are not ready for this, then you will be easily get affected or bothered by the whole scenario of what is going on. Do not be overwhelmed so much with the good things that are happening because once you are already engrossed with it, and there comes a negative one, you might not be able to handle it well since you will be on a “denial” stage. End result? You will no longer excellently perform your tasks as the head of your business. Remember, you are the BOSS of your own company. So, why not make the most out of it, do the right thing and enjoy all the benefits of being one. The above- mentioned aspects are somehow correlated with being socially prepared. If you can manage your thoughts emphasizing more on your intention to “fit in”, your physical readiness and your emotions, means you can be considered socially prepared too. Being sociable means you are friendly, easy to get along with but it does not necessarily mean you are socially primed for the business. Being socially ready means exerting a lot of effort to be with those people who have connections or have something to do with your premeditated industry. You need to devote time on this as this will play a significant role in your “self esteem”. Last but certainly not the least phase of your grounding is the fund. Make a costing of all the things needed in your business. This will let you know if your budget already suits. If you have already done all of the previously mentioned points, then you can now boldly say that “I can fit- in into this kind of business”. |
