Being a buyer

You, me, them can be called buyer or buyers.  Generally, this word refers to somebody who purchases products and services from abeing a buyer certain company.  A buyer can also be dubbed as a customer.

We have this old saying that “the buyer/customer is always right”.  Well, admit it or not, not at all times.  Let’s just say the buyer/customer has the right, but not always right”.  You will notice that the word right was mentioned several times already.  Yes, because that is what we’re going to talk about here.

Simply follow and practice all what is going to be stated below and you’ll undeniably know why this word is being emphasized.

As a buyer/customer, we must apply the following tips in transacting for a stress-free purchase.

Ø     DO what is expected of you as a buyer.  Be polite.  A well mannered person will be respected and is sure to have a smooth sales negotiation with the company or person he is making a purchase with.  This is where the famous quote from the bible comes in, “what you sow is what you reap”. Sounds religious? Sort of, but you see, this is definitely happening in our day to day living.  If you plant respect, then you’ll also harvest the same thing, right?

Ø     DO make a research/survey of the person/company you are dealing with.  Make it 100% sure that you are negotiating with a legitimate one.  We’re not saying here that you doubt some if not all of the people/company you are getting in touch with regarding your order.  You just have to be very keen about it so that you will not be regretful in the future.

Ø     DO scrutinize the products/services you are buying.  Make a thorough study of the products/services you are considering so as to avoid conflicts.  You may find this step tedious, but it’s not.  You just have to be systematic in a very simple yet comprehensive way.  After all, you want to get your money’s worth right?

Ø       DO make your bid in a way that is not offensive.  Asking for a low price of the product/service you are taking into account is not a big deal.   Yes, you definitely have the right to bargain with the price.  But, make it reasonable enough.  Sometimes, we just have to put ourselves on the shoes of the seller so as to fully understand if we are doing the right thing as a buyer.

Ø     DO inquire about the ordering, payment, delivery and shipping system.  Making yourself familiar with this aspect will eliminate confusion.  This will result to a smooth sales transaction.  Feels good right?

Likewise, reflect on the subsequent words and you’ll finally realize the importance of reading this.

Ø     DON’T be sarcastic.  Mocking is not a nice gesture.  Yes you have the right to throw queries to the seller as regards the products/services you are availing.  But don’t over-do it.  Ask questions that are relevant to what you are availing.

Ø     DON’T be too impulsive.  Ouch! That hurts? Occasionally, we are buying products/services that we don’t really NEED at all, we just WANT them.  No need for further explanation on the two words.  The point here is to think twice before we make our purchase.  It’s a case to case basis though.  If you have lots of money, then you can buy almost anything you WANT.  But if you don’t, then you just focus on your NEED.

Having mentioned the word right a number of times here may sound redundant.  But I’m sure you will agree with me that without it, the above-stated guidelines will be incomplete.

You’re ready to shop now, buyer!
